Richard visits Northfield residents to see the positive work of the local energy efficiency partnership

On 27th June Richard paid a visit to residents of Forrell Grove in Northfield to see the work of the Northfield Energy Efficiency Partnership (NEEP).

NEEP was launched in January 2008 to bring energy efficiency to Northfield residents making their homes warmer and more affordable to heat.

On his visit to Forrell Grove Richard met with the Tenants and Residents Association, who have been working alongside NEEP to ensure that Decent Homes surveys have been completed, measures installed and energy efficiency advice given to the residents.

Properties within Forrell Grove are of a concrete construction and are therefore very difficult to heat. Being able to install cavity wall insulation has made a huge difference to residents.

Speaking to the residents of Forrell Grove Richard was pleased to hear that energy efficiency measures installed through the scheme are having a real impact on their comfort levels.

After the visit, Richard said:

‘This is an excellent project that is clearly benefiting the residents of Forrell Grove and which will also be of great benefit to my constituents across the Northfield ward. I congratulate all of the partners involved and I am very pleased that Government funding through DEFRA has helped bring it about.’

If you live within the Northfield Ward and would like a surveyor to call at your property, please contact NEEP on 0121 569 5810. Or alternatively you may visit the Northfield Neighbourhood Office for further information.
