Holocaust Memorial Day, 27th January

H

Holocaust Memorial DayThis week, in preparation for Holocaust Memorial Day, I signed the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment in the House of Commons, honouring those who died during the Holocaust as well as honouring the Holocaust survivors who work tirelessly to educate young people about what they endured.

Monday 27th January will mark the 69th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration and death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, the site of the largest mass murder in history.

The Holocaust Memorial Day provides us with a crucial reminder of the importance of commemorating the millions who were affected by the Holocaust and other genocides. I want to encourage as many people as possible in Northfield to mark HMD a week on Monday.

To get involved or to find out more about the day visit the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust online.
