Representing you in Parliament

Richard in the House of Commons

As well as working locally in Birmingham, a key part of my job as your MP is to represent you in Parliament. Alongside my duties dealing with national and international issues this involves taking up important local issues in Parliament and directly with government ministers – everything from housing to health care, from crime to climate change.

You can see some of the things I have been saying in Parliament, questions I have been asking and parliamentary motions I have signed below and read more about some of the policy issues I have raised on behalf of constituents under the ‘Policy’ menu above.

Speeches

You can see a list of the topics I have spoken on in the House of Commons recently online here.

Parliamentary Questions

You can see a list of the written parliamentary questions (what’s a written question?) I have asked recently online here.

Early Day Motions

Constituents regularly get in touch to ask me to sign an Early Day Motion (what’s an EDM?) in support of a particular issue or campaign. You can see a list of the EDMs I have signed this year online here.
