This weekend saw Birmingham host Crufts’ Dog Show, and with a large number of constituents regularly getting in touch about animal welfare, when better to share Labour’s animal welfare commitments!

Labour have revealed six key pledges that ensure we will continue to lead the way on advancing animal welfare. If elected Labour will:

1. Defend the Hunting Act
2. Ban wild animals in circuses
3. End the badger cull
4. Reduce animal cruelty on shooting estates
5. Review the rules on breeding and selling dogs and cats
6. Lead the fight against global animal cruelty.
